Vernon Alabama’s Gospel Music Weekend 2017 

Vernon, Alabama will be hopping once again on September 8th and 9th as gospel artists from all over the country get together to bring the community 2 days of Southern Gospel and Christian Country music at Vernon Alabama’s Gospel Music Weekend. 

The event will feature free concerts on Friday and Saturday night at the Vernon City Auditorium. Many of the artists that participated last year will be returning to Vernon and there will be new additions to the lineup.

2017 Diamond Awards Top Ten 

Pigeon Forge, Tenn. – SGNScoops Magazine announces the unveiling of the 2017 Diamond Awards Top Ten nominees Vote HERE. During the nomination period, the fans of the digital magazine chose the top nominees in each category. These names have now been tabulated to produce a list of the Top Ten favorite nominees for each area. 

SGNScoops Magazine now invites all Gospel music fans, friends, artists and industry personnel to visit the SGNScoops website to view the Top Ten and vote on their favorites to produce the Top Five. The Diamond Awards are presented each year during the Creekside Gospel Music Convention. 

2017 Diamond Awards 

The Diamond Awards ceremony Vote HERE will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Pigeon Forge. This gala evening is one of the most exciting evenings in Gospel music, with surprise guests, great music and special presentations. 

Creekside Gospel Music Convention is offering a VIP wristband for those fans who want a more up-close and personal experience. For $25, the wearer will receive VIP seating, special gifts, and an invitation to a VIP party. This wristband is valid for the entire Convention, October 30 through November 2, at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center. Fans are urged to order their wristbands early to avoid disappointment.

2017 Christian Country News Summer Edition 

Welcome to the new edition of Christian Country News. We are happy to showcase for you some new friends, some old friends and some events you will want to attend. Our main feature is on Steve Bridgmon, a rising star in Christian Country music, whose single sits at No. 1 on the SGNScoops/Christian Country News Top 40 for June 2017. 

Another Christian Country artist you will want to know more about is Brent Harrison, subject of the Fast Five for this edition. And if the pictures for American Pride make you look twice, they are a tribute band to the gospel side of the Statler Brothers. Eric Bennett to be honored by Dr. Jerry Goff at Creekside 2017 

Pigeon Forge, Tenn. – Multi-award winning bass singer, Eric Bennett of Triumphant Quartet, will be honored with the Life Achievement Award from SGNScoops Magazine this fall at the Creekside Gospel Music Convention 2017. Eric Bennett has been with Dove Award and Grammy Nominated Triumphant since their beginning in 2003, at the same time being nominated and awarded Favorite Bass Singer many times from different Christian outlets. 

Eric Bennett is a former pastor who still has a pastor’s heart and has genuine compassion for both audience and artist alike. Bennett comments, “One of the highest achievements is to be honored by your peers. I am truly honored to receive the Life Achievement Award from the SGNScoops Magazine.” The Life Achievement award will be presented to Bennett at Creekside on Monday, October 30, by Rob Patz, Publisher of SGNScoops Magazine and Dr. Jerry Goff. 

Dr. Goff comments, “I am excited to participate in giving the SGN Scoops Life Achievement Award to a personal friend and a truly deserving artist and minister.” Dr. Goff and his wife Jan will be at Creekside for the entire Convention, October 30 through November 2 at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center, Pigeon Forge. 

“I am excited to be able to honor my friend Eric,” says Rob Pat. “I invite all of our friends to join us at the end of October to show how much we appreciate everyone’s favorite bass singer.”

Jonathan Dale: WPIL FM Spotlight Artist 

Jonathan Dale has an easy laugh and country drawl.  He also has a crazy life story.  “It’s a story about God’s grace.  I am the Prodigal Son.  I saw the world and it left me empty.  More alone.  Now I’m coming home.  Back to my hometown, back to Christian music, back to who God is calling me to be.” says Jonathan. From singing Southern Gospel music all across the country during his childhood, to falling into the dark chains of a heroin addiction, the prodigal son has indeed returned.
