Jax State Adds Future Football Series With Buffalo

JACKSONVILLE – On Wednesday, Jax State and Buffalo announced a future football series that will pit the Conference USA Gamecocks and Mid-American Conference Bulls Jax Stateagainst one another in 2028 and 2031.

UB will host the Gamecocks on Sept. 16, 2028. The Bulls will make the return trip to Jacksonville on Sept. 6, 2031.

The 2028 meeting at Buffalo will be the first between the two programs. The Gamecocks’ last visit to the Northeast region came during the 2018 FCS playoffs at Maine.

In January, Jax State announced a home-and-home series with UAB that will wrap up with the Gamecocks hosting the Blazers to begin that 2028 campaign.

The Gamecocks are coming off one of the most successful debut seasons in FBS history in 2023, when they went 9-4 and won the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. The 2024 season kicks off on CBS Sports Network from the newly renovated Burgess-Snow Field on Aug. 29 at 7:00 p.m. against Coastal Carolina.
